Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween. I did get into the spirit...as much as I can at 6mo pregnant. I was not able to find a costume...So Baby H wore her 'unofficial' first costume:

It was too cute not to buy. Tim and I have no major plans tonight. We are just going to enjoy the evening together and pass out candy to the neighborhood trick-or-treaters. It actually stopped raining- so we may get quite a few coming by. We will see.

Here is a belly pic for you all. 27w 2d.
She's turning my mid section into a bowlingball.

OH and this one....I no longer have an 'innie' or an 'outie'. I have a 'flatie'. I think this is the stage right before an 'outie'. Please love me eventhough I am different!!!!!

'H' is for ..........

'H'alloween Decorations:
Here are a few pics of our Halloween decorations. They have been out front since the first weekend in October. So excited. Halloween is on a Friday this year. Which means lots and lots of tick-or-treaters.
I like the cute pumpkins:

Tim had to have the Pirate guy:

And here they are on our front porch area:

'H'air:
I got my hair colored( ok the grays covered up) back on the 11th. Here are a few pics mama took. You can see the great color that my hair stylist did. I love it.
Oh and a belly pick....25wks

Braxton 'H'icks
Yup - I have been feeling those. They are really kind of weird. There is no pain or discomfort with them. Apparently you have them throughout the whole pregnancy- you can start to feel them around the late 2nd tri or 3rd trimester. All I feel is the uterus really tight and hard. At any given hour I have felt up to 4 b/h(braxton hicks) Kinda weird. Other times I don't have any. Dr says not to worry. At our appt last week she checked me out and I have nothing to worry about at this time. As long as the b/h are not painful and I am not bleeding. Which I am not. Baby girl H was measuring right on schedule. Not above schedule, meaning my RLP(round ligament pains) have subsided. At the 25wk appt- I measured a 25cm uterus- and her hb was a strong 148. All is good. next appt in 4wks(from last wed)

'H'eartburn:
OH yes- I have heartburn. And it truely SUCKS!!!!!! It kept me up most of last night. I am practically sleeping between a 45 and 90 degree angle (which means sitting up basically). Even drinking water can cause it. Not much they can do - or so I hear. I will call the DR office in the morning. Right now - Tums are helping to dull the intensity. oh well. 3mor months - right?

'H'ormonal(emotional):
I thought the emotions in the 1st trimester were a rollercoster...Um yeah- nothing compared to the last week. For no reason at all I would just start to cry. Looking at the computer screen- working....cry. Watching the end of 'You've got mail'....cry. Talking to Tim on the phone- about what we want for dinner....cry. It was crazy----would have been nice if there was a 'real' reason for it, and not just hormones. I could totally understand if I was mad - or sad - or angry. But just because is not good enough for me. Oh well........let's wait and see what next week brings.

23 Weeks

This week has been 'normal'. According to the Dr's office at least.
-My sciatic nerve is pinched on my right side(back right buttocks) It only really hurts when I move wrong, or walk, or try to lift anything. Dr's advice........take some tylenol for the pain and try to avoid doing things that aggravate it. Ok - I just won't walk. Funny huh? Actually I just try to walk carefully, and when I come home from work I relax and use a heating pad on it as much as I can. It does help.....pain is not as bad as it was late last week.
-I did to go the Dr's office on Monday afternoon. Not a scheduled appt- I woke up with a sharp, constant pain on my lower left abdomen. It was a new pain, and I was not sure what it was. Got to the Dr's office and they measured my abdomen. It has gown 3cm in the past 2 weeks. The normal is appox 1cm/week. Because mine is gowing more...it is stretching my ligaments. AKA Round Ligament Pain. Dr's advice....take some tylenol for the pain, and it will eventually go away.

Besides the above.....I am feeling pretty good most of the time. I just relax and take it easy. I am loving my bed and heating pad. She is getting more active every day. I love laying down at night and feeling her move around. I think she may be a dancer. She sure is active.

Here are a couple of 23 week pictures:
Yes the first one makes me look 'huge'(in my opinion for 5mo along). Tim took it and started laughing. I looked at it and started laughing too....I look huge.

This one was taken 2 min later...not as huge as above. Cute - but not huge :)

Book Club- Sept 2008

Last night was Sept Book Club. We once again had a great time. The book we read was :

'Such a Pretty Fat: One Narcissist's Quest To Discover if Her Life Makes Her Ass Look Big, Or Why Pie is Not The Answer' By Jen Lancaster.

From Barnes & Noble:

Jen Lancaster wants to debunk the idea that the road to happiness is paved with skinny jeans and perky self-esteem. The way she sees it, fat isn't an ego crisis; it's a health issue. This hilarious, outrageously candid memoir describes her ongoing battles with savory desserts, "skinny bitches," and weird weight loss gurus.

From the Publisher

Personal Training, Session One: I'm standing at the front desk, waiting for the mythical "Barbie" to appear. While I was sucking down water and aspirin earlier today, trying to shed my hangover, I started thinking about how judgmental I can be. I mean, why should I have instantly freaked out when I heard someone named Barbie was going to be my trainer? Sure, the name brings up images of gorgeous girls with long blonde hair, shiny white teeth, deep tans, and impossible-to-achieve, completely enviable figures, but maybe this Barbie is different.

Maybe Trainer Barbie is a dark, homely girl with an overbite and she took up fitness to feel better about her hump and her skin condition. Yes, that's it. Barbie is all hideous and disfigured and she will have a heart of gold and because of this, she'll be devoted to nothing but making me lose weight...

I stand by the magazine rack and I'm about to pull out this week's In Touch when I hear my name being called. I turn around and look for my gargoyle of a trainer.

But I don't see any monsters.

All I see is a gorgeous girl with long blonde hair, shiny white teeth, a deep tan, and an impossible-to- achieve, completely enviable figure standing there. "Hey, are you Jen?" she asks. "I'm Barbie!"

Of course you are.

From Dawn:

I really enjoyed reading this book. Very funny, and real. I would highly recommend it.
