Artic Blast 2008

So yesterday we had a snow storm move it's way into the Portland/Metro area. I think when Mother Nature sent it this way....she forgot about all of us up here in Clark County, WA. Oregon received 1-5 inches according to the news. Roads are bad .... schools are closed .... My sister Cassandra called and said she had a few inches. Here is what we recived.....

Yup...a very light dusting. And I took these photos at the peak snow fall moment.

We got gypped!! Hey - I 'm glad the roads are clear...But if it's gonna snow...I want at least 3 inches. Maybe on Wednesday. According to the weather stations- we might be able to get some snow on Wed. We will have to wait and see.

Class of 2008

I am so proud of my husband. He is an official College Graduate. Saturday my Mother in law, Mama and I got to go to Tim's Graduation from Concordia College. It was a very nice (meaning short) ceremony. I am sooooo excited for him. He has worked so hard for this. He received his Bachelor Degree in Business. Way to go babe!!!!

Long Beach, WA

Tim and I got to enjoy a few days away from home. We used our Timeshare. They just opened a new resort location in Long Beach, WA. We went the Sat- Mon after Thanksgiving. Very vice to just get away and relax. Oh and the pool was fantastic....90 degrees. Very comfortable at 8pm to go swimming. 1/2 of the time it was foggy...teh other 1/2 the sun was out. Very nice few days. Here is the resort.....see foggy.

Can't wait to go to Seaside at Christams for a week. It will be me Tim and his mom. That will be sooooooo relaxing at 8mo pregnant. I am looking forward to the pool. It takes so much pressure off my abdomen and back.

Here is my adorable niece Jessica. She was a big big help. She passed me the gifts, and made sure everyone got to see them after I opened them.. Thanks Jess !!

It was such a great day. Thank you again to all who helped. I will never forget how awesome it was.

Rough life........

He loves our bed.....it's very comfy~ as you can see.



I love him so much. He cuddles with me every night....now. I think he knows that there is something going on......meaning baby on the way. He is 8 1/2 now. Will be 9 in March. Cute cute kitty :)

Baby Shower

So last Saturday, Nov 22nd, My friends and family threw me and Baby H a baby shower. It was an incredible day. So many friends were able to come, and they were very generous. Baby H is so blessed to have so many people that care about her, ok and me to. I enjoyed showing off her room. Here is a pic of her Crib. Tim was so excited and proud to put it together. Tim's mom, grandma H, bought us the crib and bedding. We are so thankful. It is really sturdy. It's a 4-in-1 bed. Starts out as a crib, then it will convert into a todler bed, then a day bed, then it can be used as the head and foot board for a double. Very functional.

We painted the walls a soft green. Classic Winnie the Pooh is the bedding. It is so cute, and Target has a ton of stuff to coordinate.

Here is the Carseat/Stroller combo that we got. It's Eddie Bauer....Very sturdy and nice.

Tim's cousin's Wife, Chrissy - made this diaper cake. There are little things all around it- besides the diapers. power, lotions, cute shoes, also there are litle hair clips and barrettes on the ribbon. So cute.

And for those stinky diapers.... A diaper genie. :) and wipe warmer.


I don't have any pictures of the actual baby shower...my sister took those with her camera and she will get me a copy soon. As soon as I get them I will post them. I just enjoyed all the food friends and family.

I have more pictures to share...but they are not uploading correctly...I will work on it tomorrow and see what I can do.

29 Week Photo

29 weeks today. Can you believe it? Time flies when you are nauseous, tired, and uncomfortable.....I mean having fun. LOL.
Had a Dr apt today. All is normal and good with Baby H and I. Her h/b was 139. My blood pressure is normal, belly is measuring right on schedule....oh and the lower abdominal cramping I am experiencing is completly normal. Yup- body is just expanding. Man - sometimes I can not wait for all this to be done. Today I also got to do my 1hr glucose test, to see if I have gestational diabetes(GD) That was fun...drank this orange stuff- kinda like orange soda with less carbination. Went upstairs to my appt - came back to lab an hour after I drank orange stuff - and they drew blood. I was told that the dr office would call me today if my test results came back abmormal or if I failed and would need the 3hr glucose test scheduled. If all was normal and I do not have GD, they would go over the results at my next appt in 3wks. Well it's been 5hrs- no call from the Dr office- I assumed all was normal, so I logged on to their website and looked at my test results.....79. :) Under 131 is negative for GD. YEAH me ...I passed. :::doing the happy dance::: I don't have to go back for the 3hr glucose test.
So they scheduled my next 3 appts already. The next one is in 3w. I will be 32w along. Then the next 2 are 2 wks apart at 34 and 36w. Then they go to every week. Yup - my appts are now coming more frequent.... Guess it's getting closer.
Baby H is moving around alot more - and more frequently. It's fun to watch my belly move - especially after I eat. She is an active one- that's for sure. I personally think she is a dancer....but that's just me.

POR 101, HOU 99 OT

Portland Trail Blazers 101, Houston Rockets 99 in OT(overtime)

Tim and I got to go to the Blazers NBA game last night. It was s great game and we had so much fun. Big Al's (where Tim bowls on Tues nights) gave us the tickets. They are giving tickets to all the blowling league officers. So we got to go last night. Sitting for almost 4 hours did make my tailbone a little bit uncomfortable...but it was still sooo much fun. Games are so much better in person than on TV. Very close game the entire time and then with .08 seconds left we were down by 1pt. Brandon Roy made a 30ft 3pt jump shot to win the game. Nothing but net on that one. So Cool, and Exciting.

Here is the new jumbotron/ HD big Screen. It is so nice and HUGE. Great for replays and watching the game when people are walking by infront of you and you can't see the court.

Last night was Kevin Duckworth night. He was one of the Blazer greats. He passed away this year at the age of 44. They dedicated the entire season to him, and on alot of the timeouts they were remembering his life up on the big screen.

The Rose Garden Arena was packed. So much energy from all the fans. We had a blast!!

Dear Non-Pregnant Person.......

This was posted on the chat-board I frequent. Somedays I wish certain people would follow these guidelines. Somedays (because I am very emotional) I just want to shout these at others. Some is soooooo true.....Some is just sooooooo funny.

Dear Non-Pregnant Person,

I hope you find these guidelines helpful in your interactions with pregnant women as failing to follow them may result in serious physical harm....
If you are thinking, surely she doesn't mean me- then you should probably read this twice.

1) The appropriate response to a couple telling you they are having a baby is "Congratulations!" with enthusiasm. Any other response makes you an a$$.

2) Through the wonders of science, we now know that babies are made ONLY by the mother and father- not grandparents. Unless the baby is in your uterus or you are the man that helped put it there, you may not ever use the phrase "my baby".

3) On the same note, unless you made the baby as defined in 2, the pregnancy, birth and raising of the child are not about you. You do not have input. No one wants to hear your opinion unless they ask for it. The same goes for the name of the baby.

4) The body of a pregnant women should be treated the same as any other body. You would not randomly touch someone's stomach if they were not pregnant, nor would you inquire into the condition of their uterus, cervix or how they plan to use their breasts. Pregnancy does not remove all traces of privacy from a woman.

5) Likewise, no women wants to hear comments on her weight- ever. A pregnant woman does not find it flattering that you think she is about is pop, must be having twins, looks swollen or has gained weight in her face. Telling her she looks too small only makes her worry that she is somehow starving her baby. Making such comments invite her to critique your physical appearance and you may not act offended. The only acceptable comment on appearance is "You look fabulous!".

6) By the time we are 20-30 years old, most of us have picked up on the fact that the summer is hot. We are hot every summer when we are not pregnant. We don't need you to point out that we will be miserably hot before the baby comes.

7) There is a reason that tickets to L&D are not yet sold on Ticketmaster. Childbirth is actually not a public event. It may soundcrazy, but some women really do not relish the idea of their mother, MIL or a host of other family members seeing their bare butt and genitals. Also, some people simply feel like the birth of their child is a private and emotional moment to be shared only by the parents. Like everything else in life, unless you receive an invitation, you are NOT invited. This includes doctor appointments, ultrasounds, labor,delivery, the hospital and the parents home. You do not decide if you will be there for the birth or if you will move in with the new parents to "help out". If your assistance is desired, rest assured that you will be asked for it.

8) If you are asked to help after the birth, this means you should cleanup the house, help with cooking meals, and generally stay out of the way. Holding the baby more than the parents, interfering with breastfeeding and sleeping schedules and making a woman who is still leaking fluid from multiple locations lift a finger in housework is not helping.

9) The only people entitled to time with the baby are the parents. Whether they choose to have you at the hospital for the birth or ask for you to wait three weeks to visit, appreciate that you are are being given the privilege of seeing their child. Complaining or showing disappointment only encourages the parents to include you less.
